Adding another achievement under his belt, Pakistan’s energetic pace bowler Hasan Ali became the third-fastest Pakistani player to clinch 50 wickets in T20 internationals. Additionally, he also became the ninth Pakistani player to achieve the milestone.
The other Pakistani players to breach the benchmark before Ali include Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, Sohail Tanvir and Imad Wasim.
Furthermore, Hasan Ali has also become the tenth fastest to reach the 50 wicket milestone in 38 matches. Ali also holds the record of taking the quickest 50-wickets in ODI from his national side, while being the fifth one overall in the list.
He achieved the feat during the first T20I of the four-match T20I series against West Indies in Bridgetown on Wednesday.
Hasan Ali dismissed Evin Lewis (6) to complete his tally of 50 wickets in the format. He took two wickets, the second one of Shimron Hetmyer (5), in the first T20I before the match was called off due to incessant rain. West Indies was down five wickets in 85 runs, with Kieron Pollard and Jason Holder with the bat on the Pitch.
“T20 cricket is all about variations and a good bowler should have command on bowling different variations. I have been practising different deliveries in the nets and am very keen to do better in the upcoming series against the West Indies.
“I believe in giving everything for the team once I step in the field – whether it is by taking a wicket or hitting the ball out of the park,” Hasan Ali had said ahead of the match.
