Virat Kohli on Sunday expressed his delight over the return of Hardik Pandya as a bowler in the team. The skipper said that Hardik has promised to double up his services in the coming months to be available as an all-rounder for the team in three formats.
“Credit to Hardik that he’s bowling at least 3 overs for us in every game. And the next six to eight months period he’s promised he’s going to commit everything to be the all-rounder the team needs in all three formats. He plays for the team at all times and these kinds of players are priceless,” Kohli said.
Hardik Pandya bowled two overs in the first T20 before bowling his full quota of overs in the recently concluded 2nd T20I.
Ahead of the start of the T20 series, Hardik promised that he will bowl in all the games in the series.
“It’s been almost one and a half months since I have been preparing in this format — it’s going to be important with the World T20 coming up. You will see me bowling in this series,” Hardik had said.
The 2nd T20 saw both Ishan Kishan scoring respective half-centuries as India won the game by 7 wickets. Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs in his debut T20 knock, while Virat Kohli also returned to form with a blistering 49-ball 73. India chased down a 165-run total in just 17.5 overs with 7 wickets remaining in the end.
