Indians with positions in the ICC:
The President was in the highest position in the ICC until 2014. In the past, the ICC has had two Indian presidents: Jagmohan Dalmiya (1997-2000) and Sharad Pawar (2010-2012). And during Pawar in the lead, India won the 2011 ICC World Cup.
In 2014, the ICC regulations were modified, and a new post called Chairman was formed. So far, two Indians have held the chairmanship of the ICC: N Srinivasan (2014-2015) and Shashank Manohar (2015-2016).
Also if Sourav gets the post he will want to make sure that he has the numbers in hand if there is a contest. Pakistan the arch-rival is unlikely to give consent to this.
