Indian team captain Virat Kohli has become the highest-ranking Indian batsman in ICC T20I Player Rankings after securing the fourth spot on the table. His dazzling performance in the recently concluded T20I series against England helped Kohli jump up one position to secure the rank.
Thanks to his blistering 80 off 52 balls in the final T20I of the five-match series against England, Kohli led the team to a 36-runs victory, partnered with vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who slammed 64 off 34 balls to seal the series 3-2. Captain Kohli’s 77 off 46 balls in the third T20I also played a significant role in amping up his T20I ranking.
Rohit Sharma has also made significant gains in the rankings has he raced up to the fourteenth position after moving up three spots in the ICC T20I Player Rankings. Apart from the two players, other players of the team who made considerable gains include Shreyas Iyer, who jumped past five places to towards the top of the table, Suryakumar Yadav, and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
Iyer has acquired his career-best rank of 26. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant has moved up eleven places in the rankings to acquire the 69th spot, while Yadav raced up to the 66th rank owing to his 57 off 31 balls and 32 off 17 balls in the last to matches of the series, respectively.
Hardik Pandya has also made a massive progress as he raced past 47 places to sit on the 78th spot in the rankings.
