ICC Test team rankings: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday released the latest MRF Tyres rankings of the Test team. ICC updated the rankings on Thursday and it showed India gaining one rating point, while New Zealand gained two. As a result, India sits at the top with 122 rating points, followed by New Zealand with as many points.
In the recent past, India defeated Australia 2-1, followed by a 3-1 win over England in Tests. On the other hand, New Zealand registered a 2-0 win over West Indies and Pakistan.
The latest update saw Pakistan gaining three points and thus take the number five spot. West Indies performed well to beat Bangladesh 2-0 and drew 0-0 with Sri Lanka to move from sixth from the eighth position. It is the first time West Indies have reached the sixth position in the rankings since 2013.
South Africa takes the seventh position. It is their lowest ever ranking in the history of Test rankings. This is followed by Sri Lanka in the eighth position. Bangladesh lost five points and thus are ninth in the list. Zimbabwe gained the eighth position but still are languishing at the bottom of the table.

Yesterday ICC had released ICC Men’s bowlers’ rankings that saw Pakistani bowlers achieving their career-best Test rankings. But on the other hand, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam slipped down to the 10th place in the Test batsmen rankings.This was after Pakistan’s emphatic victory over Zimbabwe in the Test series by 2-0.
