IND vs ENG 4th Test: India has added Prasidh Krishna to their squad for the remaining two Tests of the ongoing five-match Test series against England. India won the second Test by 151 runs before the first Test resulted in a draw. England made a roaring comeback in the third Test and won the game by an innings and 78 runs.
Ahead of the fourth Test, India has included fast bowler Prasidh Krishna in their squad for the final two Tests, who was already with the squad as a stand-by bowler. His addition is perhaps an indication that he might feature in the playing XI. It has been learnt that the management is keen to focus on the workload management of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj and thus one of them might not play the fourth Test.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee – based on the request of the team management – has added fast bowler Prasidh Krishna to India’s squad for the fourth Test.
“Prasidh, who was on the standby list has been training and travelling with Team India right from the start of the tour. The upcoming Test will be played at The Oval, London from 2nd September,” the Indian cricket board said in a statement.
On the other hand, Moeen Ali has been given the vice-captaincy for the fourth Test against India. Moeen Ali’s promotion came after Jos Buttler made himself unavailable for the final two Tests, citing personal reasons.
“All-rounder Moeen Ali has been named as England Test vice-captain for the fourth Test match against India at the Kia Oval starting on Thursday,” ECB said in a statement.
India faces off England in the fourth Test at Kennington Oval Cricket Stadium in London, starting from 2nd September 2021.
