IND vs ENG, 4th Test: Ahead of the fourth Test between India and England at Oval Cricket Ground, the Indian Cricket Team sported black armbands to pay respect to the late legendary coach Vasudev Paranjape. The former Indian cricketer took his breath at his Mumbai residence on Monday. He passed away at 82 years of age.
Vasudev Paranjape is a former Indian Cricketer who represented Mumbai and Baroda in 29 first-class matches between 1956 and 1970. During his career, he amassed 785 runs, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
Vasudev Paranjape was known for his man-management skills. He had great coaching manuals and was instrumental in shaping the careers of several Indian batsmen. He had the great technical expertise and also used his man-management skills to great effect.
In the late 80s, Vasudev Paranjape was roped in as the Director of coaching by the board. He was also among the first set of coaches when the National Cricket Academy came into force in 2000.
The ongoing five-match Test series is currently levelled at 1-1. The fourth Test is currently being played at Kennington Oval Ground. Joe Root has won the toss and invited India to bat first. At the time of writing, India has lost a wicket for 28 runs. Rohit Sharma is back into the hut after scoring 11 runs off 27 balls. KL Rahul is unbeaten at 17 off 39 balls with Cheteshwar Pujara on the crease with him.
Both the sides have made two changes to their playing 11. Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur replaced Ishant Sharma and M Shami for India. As for England, Sam Curran and Jos Buttler made way for Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes.
