IND vs ENG: Batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw have been named in the Team India squad for upcoming India versus England five-match Pataudi Trophy commencing on August 4. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) handed call ups to the two players, who are currently engaged in the Sri Lanka tour T20I series, as injury replacements.
Both the players were named in the 20-member India squad announced in May for the World Test Championship final and the England Test series. While Shaw would be replacing Shubman Gill, Surykumar Yadav has been included in a big to strengthen their middle order.

Three players including all-rounder Washington Sundar, opening batsman Shubman Gill, and fast bowler Avesh Khan had to be ruled out owing to their injuries.
While Washington Sudar has been ruled out due to his right-hand bowling finger injury, Shubman Gill returned home to India after suffering a shin injury during the inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final in June, in which New Zealand defeated India to clinch the WTC mace.
On the other hand, fast bowler Avesh Khan suffered a blow to his left thumb on Day 1 of the warm-up game and was confirmed to sustaining a fracture.
Among other updates, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, having recovered from COVID-19 with two negative RT-PCR tests, has joined the squad in Durham. He has begun his preparations for the upcoming Test series after clearance from the BCCI Medical Team.
Following the completion of their self-isolation in London, owling coach B. Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran have also joined the team.
