IND vs SA 2nd T20I: India and South Africa are set to lock horns with each other in the second T20 international of the five-match series on Sunday at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. India lost the first match by 7 wickets on Thursday. Rishabh Pant and Co. batted first after losing the toss and they managed to put on a massive 211-run total.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan gave the team an aggressive 50-plus partnership. Gaikwad got out after getting a good start but Ishan Kishan went on to play an outstanding 76-run knock-off 48 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes. Shreyas Iyer also gave him good support, playing a handy knock of 36 runs in 27 balls.
Later, Hardik Pandya (31 off 12) and Rishabh Pant (29 off 16) gave the team ideal finishing touches to take the team to a mammoth score. At the end of the first innings, it looked like India would win the game pretty easily.
Indian bowlers failed to contain Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller
Till the halfway stage of the second innings as well, India had the upper hand in the game. South Africa had lost 3 wickets for 81 runs in 8.4 overs. However, David Miller then joined hands with Van der Dussen and the duo took the team home comfortably in 19.1 overs. Miller counter-attack and carried his IPL form into the T20 series. Rassie van der Dussen struggled to get his timing right initially. However, once he got going, South Africa wreaked havoc with the bat.
Rassie van der Dusssen and David Miller stayed unbeaten on 75 off 46 and 64 off 31 respectively. Ahead of the second T20I, India might make a change or two in the bowling department. South Africa, on the other hand, is likely to play with the same eleven.
