IND vs SL: Ahead of the start of the second T20 international between India and Sri Lanka, 11 Indian players were ruled out of the series after Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. India had no choice but to play all the remaining 11 players in the second T20 international. However, of the eleven players, one more player has now been ruled out of the series.
Navdeep Saini has suffered from a shoulder injury while fielding in the second T20 international. In a bid to take a catch hit by Chamika Karunaratne, he leapt into the air but was out of his reach. He fell on his shoulder and winced in pain. As a result, he was ruled out from the remainder of the series.
Now the question which arises is who will replace Navdeep Saini in the playing XI. Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Simarjeet Singh, and R Sai Kishore, who were earlier selected as net bowlers, were added to the squad. One of the four bowlers is likely to make his debut in the third T20 international.
If reports are to be believed, Sandeep Warrier is the first choice to replace Navdeep Saini in the third game. The Bengal speedster was part of India’s under-19 world cup winning squad back in 2018.
