IND vs WI: India registered their second win in the five-match T20I series on Tuesday to take a 2-1 lead against West Indies on Tuesday. After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma asked West Indies to bat first. Windies had a pretty good start to their innings as Brandon King and K Mayers added 57 runs for the opening wicket. Hardik Pandya finally got the first wicket in the form of King (20) in the 8th over, however, Mayers kept scoring boundaries at all parts of the ground.
He played a sensational knock of 73 runs in 50 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes. Pooran didn’t look at his best as he scored 22 runs in 23 balls. His knock slowed down the pace of the innings. However, substantial contributions from Rovman Powell (23 off 14) and Hetmyer (20 off 12) meant West Indies managed to score a competitive 164 runs on the board.
For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned with figures of 2 for 35 in 4 overs, while the likes of Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh picked one wicket each. In pursuit of the score, India came up with the same opening pair of Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma got retired hurt after scoring 11 runs in 5 balls, including 1 four and 1 six. However, Surayakumar Yadav kept scoring boundaries all across the park. He wreaked havoc with the bat, smashing 8 fours and 4 sixes en route to his 44-ball 76.
He got out in the 15th over but India had a complete grasp on the game at the time. Hardik Pandya got out cheaply but Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 33 off 26 meant India chased down the score in 19 overs.
