After losing the first ODI by 66 runs, the visitors have roared back to level the series 1-1 on Saturday. England produced a solid performance with that bat and have now forced India to introspect on their bowling strategy.
Much like the first ODI, India batted first and produced another run-fest at the same ground. However, both the openers departed early this time. Skipper Virat Kohli continued with his fine form, KL Rahul compiled a century and returned back to form.
Rishabh Pant, who was replaced in place of Shreyas Iyer, too produced a great knock, while a solid cameo from Hardik Pandya took India to 336 runs in the first innings.
England, in reply, once again started brilliantly. Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy stitched a well compiled 110-run partnership for the first wicket. Ben Stokes was sent in at number three position and the all-rounder cashed in with both hands. He played a superb 99-run knock, while a special century from Jonny Bairstow helped England chased down the total with 39 balls remaining in the end.
After a severe bashing, India would look to come up with better plans with the ball. Both Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar went for plenty of runs. The Men in Blue might think of bringing in T Natarajan as an extra seamer. Also, Kuldeep Yadav is likely to make way for Yuzvendra Chahal after severe bashing in both the ODIs.
As far as England are concerned, they aren’t likely to make any change in the eleven. Though, Mark Wood might come in place of Tom Curran in a bid to bolster their bowling department. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who wins the series decided the take the trophy home.
England haven’t won a single series in the ongoing tour. India have won both the Test and T20 series and would be eager to make it a 3-0 clean sweep on Sunday.

IND vs ENG 3rd ODI Pitch Report:
The pitch clearly has no aid for spinners at Pune. There is decent bounce and swing for the pacers unlike no turn for the spinners for both the sides. Considering the outcome of second ODI along with no aid for spinners, team chasing the target will have an edge and will also sweep the series.
