India vs Pakistan: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named their team of 12, which have been picked up for their much-awaited rip-roaring clash against arch-rivals India in their opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The strong Babar Azam-led outfit sees the inclusion of two specialist spinners, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan and three fast bowlers in their disposal, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali. The batting line up is also sturdy with Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Asif Ali in their top-order. Haider Ali has also been included in the team of 12 to boost their batting line-up and the 21-year-old is likely to find a spot in the middle-order.
However, the squad sees Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim, and Mohammad Nawaz have missed out on the selected 12 for the game.
Pakistan has blown hot and cold in their warm-up campaign of the T20 World Cup 2021 so far. They bagged victory in their first warm-up match, which they played against West Indies, winning the game by seven wickets, courtesy Babar Azam’s blistering half century and Fakhar Zaman’s 46-run knock. However, they suffered defeat at the hands of the Proteas in their next game.
Pakistan and India are slated to take on each other in a group stage encounter on 24th October, Sunday, at the Dubai International Stadium at 7:30 PM IST, which will also mark the commencement of their T20 World Cup 2021 campaigns.
