The Indian women’s team enjoyed each other’s company as they head out to Bristol for a day off on Friday. Ahead of the limited over’s series against England, the Indian women’s team spent a day out in Bristol to rejuvenate themselves. The BCCI shared some pictures of players enjoying each other’s company while eating and shopping in the city.
“#TeamIndia’s day out in Bristol. The girls stepped out for a team outing after the Test to recharge before the white-ball leg of the Tour begins. Plenty of fun and some cool dance moves along the way,” the BCCI posted on Twitter.
The Indian women’s cricket team will be facing England in a three-match ODI series, followed by as many T20s. The limited over’s series will take place between 27th July and 15th July 2021. The matches will be played in Bristol, Taunton, Worcester, Northampton, Hove and Chelmsford.
Earlier, the women’s team played the one-off Test against England, which resulted in a draw. England made 396 for 9 declared in their first innings thanks to superb knocks from captain Heather Knight (95), Sophia Dunkley (74 not out) and Tammy Beaumont (66). The hosts then bowled out India for 231 and then enforced the follow-on to put India under pressure.
England reduced India to 175 for 5 to tilt the game in their favour. However, a sensational sixth-wicket partnership between Sneh Rana and Taniya Bhatia denied the hosts a victory. Sneh Rana stayed unbeaten at 80, while Tania Bhatia scored 44 runs as the duo helped the team draw the Test on the final day.
