IPL 2022 Playoffs: Jos Buttler smacked his fourth century of the season on Friday to help Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets and reach the final of the Indian Premier League 2022. In pursuit of a 157-run total, Rajasthan made a stellar start with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler got the team off a pretty good start. The duo added 60 runs in the first five overs but Jaiswal got out on the first ball of the sixth over.
Jos Buttler, however, stayed till the end and went on to score another century in the tournament. He added 52 runs for the second wicket with Sanju Samson. The RR skipper played a handy knock of 23 runs in 21 balls but couldn’t stay till the end. Jos Buttler played an unbeaten knock of 106 runs in 60 balls to guide the team home in 18.1 overs.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals restricted Royal Challengers Bangalore to 157 runs in the first innings. Virat Kohli (7 off 8), once again, failed to hit the straps. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar did a decent recovery by adding 70 runs for the second wicket. However, the RCB skipper was struggling to time the ball well. He, eventually, got out off McCoy in the 11th over after scoring 58 runs in 42 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Rajat Patidar scored a valuable half-century but he lacked support from the other end. Glenn Maxwell (24 off 13) was looking good but failed to convert the start into a big score. Rajat Patidar (58 off 42)’s in the 16th wicket saw a collapse as RCB failed to finish the innings well. For Rajasthan, Prasidh Krishna starred with the ball as he claimed 3 for 22 runs in 4 overs. Obed McCoy returned with bowling figures of 3 for 23 in 4 overs.
