IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad have been dealt with a major blow as Washington Sundar has been ruled out for at least one week in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Sundar sustained an injury between his thumb and first finger during the recent game between SRH and Gujarat Titans. Following his injury, he was seen walking off the field. As a result of that, Sundar could not complete his quota of 4 overs. He returned with bowling figures of 0 for 14 runs in 3 overs.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their second win in IPL 2022 after beating Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets on Monday. SRH restricted Gujarat Titans to 162 runs in the first innings, thanks to their collective bowling effort.
The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan both picked two wickets each, while Umran Malik and Jansen picked one apiece.
In reply, SRH, once again, got off to a solid start. Openers, Kane Williamson, and Abhishek Sharma gave the team an ideal start to the chase. The duo added 64 runs for the opening wicket before Sharma got out for 42 off 32 balls. Williamson played a valuable knock of 57 runs in 46 balls.
Pooran later played an unbeaten 18-ball 34 to guide the team home in 19.1 overs. With that win, Sunrisers Hyderabad now has two wins in four matches. Kane Williamson and Co. are slated to play their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
