With IPL 2021 just round the corner, the players have already started joining their respective teams and began their training. While many some players joined their respective teams, others who are yet to join the team have already began training in isolation.
Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah who missed the final two Tests and limited-overs series against England has also kickstarted his training.
The pacer is currently quarantined in the hotel where he gave a small glimpse of his workout on Tuesday. He shared a video on Twitter with a caption: “Quarantining and getting those reps in”
On Tuesday, the BCCI’s SOP issued guidelines for the 14th edition of the cash-rich league that all the players, match officials, and team management will need to undergo a quarantine period of seven days before the tournament kickstarts on April 9.
During that period every individual will have to undergo COVID-19 tests and once they return negative only then they will be allowed to commence their practice sessions.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma along with Pandya brothers and Suryakumar Yadav joined the squad after India’s ODI series win against 2-1.
“Firstly really happy and very proud to represent India. It was always my dream to play for the country. It feels great and I was really happy to be part of such an amazing unit. And now, that role is over and I am back to my Mumbai Indians family. Looking ahead to unbelievable times ahead,” said Suryakumar in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign with a clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9 at the Wankhede Stadium.
