Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah entered his name in the record books on Monday after he completed 100 wickets in the SENA countries. With that, he has now become only the sixth Indian bowler to do so. The Indian cricketer has achieved the milestone in the ongoing fifth Test against England and, interestingly, he is leading the Indian Cricket Team in the Test match.
Fastest 100 wickets in Tests
Bumrah took his 100th wicket after he clean bowled Zak Crawley with a peach of a delivery. In his very next over, he had Ollie Pope caught behind. He, currently, has 101 wickets in the SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia).
Among these four nations, Bumrah has picked the most number of wickets in Australia. He has 32 wickets to his name picked in Australia at an excellent average of 21.25. In South Africa, Bumrah has 26 wickets at 24.38, including his best bowling figures of 7 for 111.
Bumrah has managed to pick six wickets in New Zealand. He has only played 2 Tests in New Zealand so far. In the ongoing match against England, India bundled England for 284 runs in the second innings. Bumrah starred with the ball for India, picking 3 for 68 runs in 19 overs.
India, though, isn’t in a great position at the end of the Day 4 of the Test match. England needs 119 runs to win the match, while Bumrah & Co. need 8 more wickets to win. A lot of responsibility will be on the shoulders of Bumrah and Shami to get India back into the game and give them a chance of winning the Test match.
