As per reports, England speedster Jofra Archer is likely to be rested for the upcoming three-match ODI series between England and India. While there has been no confirmation on that as yet, with the England Cricket deciding on the same after the conclusion of the ongoing T20 series between the sides.
Jofra Archer is part of England’s squad for the ongoing T20 series against India and is the highest wicket-taker for the side. However, in a bid to manage his workload, given that the T20 World Cup and the Ashes are going to be held this year, the 25-year old seamer might be rested for the ODIs.
Over the past couple of years, there has been a lot of talk going around regarding Jofra Archer’s fitness issues. Earlier, Jofra Archer missed the fourth Test against India due to an elbow injury and there were question marks over his participation in the five-match T20I series as well.
The England Cricket Board is yet to announce the full squad for the three ODIs against India. The three ODI games are scheduled to be played on 23rd March, 26th March and 28 March 2021.
If Jofra Archer is allowed to be rested for the ODIs series, then it would help Rajasthan Royal’s prospects for the IPL 2021. With more than 15 days of rest, Archer would come fresh into the league. Rajasthan Royals finished at the bottom last year and would look to turn the fortunes this around.
