Two of the key members of the Delhi Capitals, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, have landed in Mumbai on Tuesday to join the squad ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) opening match. The duo joined the squad a bit late owing to their international commitments.
The squad started training last week and is aiming nothing short of winning the title this year. The Twitter handle of Delhi Capitals posted the picture of the South African speedsters on the social media platform to give an update to their fans.
Taking to Twitter, the franchise posted a picture of the duo and wrote,
“Name this duo that has just arrived back to our DC Family. Wrong answers only.”
Ahead of the start of the tournament, the franchise suffered a big blow as their skipper Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the IPL 2021 owing to an injury. In his absence, Rishabh Pant would lead the side. It remains to be seen how he fares in his first assignment as the skipper of an IPL team. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman has been in an ominous form with the bat.
He is coming into the tournament on the back of impressive performances in India’s recent series against England and Australia.
With a mix of youth and experience, Delhi Capitals have their entire basis covered. They lost to Mumbai Indians in the finals last year. The franchise would be aiming to lift its maiden title this year.
