Himachal Pradesh bowler Vaibhav Arora has been making waves in domestic cricket lately. Just three days after getting picked by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 Auctions, he took a hat-trick for Himachal Pradesh in his debut List-A game. With that, he became only the 12th bowler to have picked a hat-trick in the history of List-A cricket.
Kolkata Knight Riders would be delighted to have watched the performance of their new recruit. The 23-year old, recently, also expressed his delight in making his IPL debut in the upcoming season. Vaibhav is looking forward to sharing the dressing room with the likes of world-class players like Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins and Lockie Ferguson to name a few.
“He (Morgan) is a big player and I will now get to share the dressing room with him and also with Cummins and Ferguson. So I am very excited, as I will get to learn from those two bowlers. I will take tips from Cummins and Ferguson to improve my bowling further.
“I had in mind to ask the premier fast bowlers in the world that how do they train, what is their diet and how do they maintain their fitness to bowl consistently in Test cricket. And now I will get the chance to ask them how they manage to bowl 30, 40 overs in Test cricket and will surely take some tips,” he told ANI.
Vaibhav Arora reveals that he wasn’t surprised to get picked for KKR in the auctions as he had impressed the selectors during the trials.
“My selection in KKR wasn’t that surprising as I had given trials for KKR and a player gets to know where he stands looking at his own performance during the sessions. And I was optimistic of my chances as I had done well in the trials,” he explained.
Vaibhav Arora, so far, has played 8 Ranji games, 2 List-A and 6 T20s, taking 29, 5 and 10 wickets respectively.
