KKR vs DC: After losing their last game against Rajasthan, Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways on Thursday. Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets to register their fourth win of the season. Chasing a modest score of 146 runs, Delhi didn’t get a great start. Prithvi Shaw got out on the very first ball of the innings. Mitchell Marsh (13 off 7) failed to convert the start into a big score.
However, David Warner held at one end together and compiled a good-looking knock of 42 runs in 26 balls. However, he too couldn’t take the team home as Umesh Yadav had him caught at fine leg in the 10th over. Rishabh Pant too followed soon and Delhi were in trouble at 84 for 5.
However, notable contributions from Axar Patel (24 off 17) and Rovman Powell (33 off 16) meant Delhi chased down the score in 19 overs.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 146 runs in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav ran through KKR’s batting unit as he didn’t let the franchise build momentum.
Both the openers, Aaron Finch (3) and Venkatesh Iyer (6) got out early, before Kuldeep Yadav picked the crucial wickets of Indrajith, Narine, and Russell. Shreyas Iyer held firm at one end and tried to play till the end. However, Kuldeep Yadav accounted for his wicket in the 14th over to peg KKR back.
At that stage, it didn’t look like Kolkata would reach the 140-run mark. However, notable knocks from Nitish Rana (57 off 34) and Rinku Singh (23 off 16) helped the team reach a reasonable score on the board. For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, returning with figures of 4 for 14 in 3 overs. Mustafizur Rahman (3 for 18) also returned with impressive figures.
