LSG vs SRH: Lucknow Super Giants continued to impress one and all as they registered their second win in the tournament on Monday. KL Rahul and Co. beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs to register their second consecutive win in IPL 2022. Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants managed to score a competitive score of 169 runs in the first innings. KL Rahul starred with the bat and scored 68 runs off 50 balls.
Early on, he lost partners at the other end. The likes of Quinton de Kock, Lewis, and Manish Pandey got out early. But Deepak Hooda gave the skipper great support. The duo stitched a brilliant partnership to make a stellar recovery.
Hooda notched his second half-century of the season, having scored a top-class knock of 51 runs in 33 balls. Thanks to those valuable contributions, Lucknow managed to reach a competitive score on the board. For Hyderabad, the likes of Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, and T Natarajan all picked two wickets each.
In pursuit of the score, SRH needed a good start but they couldn’t get one. The likes of Abhishek Sharma and Kane Willaimson failed to convert the start into big scores. Aiden Markram also got out after getting out.
However, Rahul Tripathi kept SRH’s hopes alive with a superb knock of 44 runs in 30 balls. He shared a valuable partnership with Nicholas Pooran but got out at a crucial stage in the team. Nicholas Pooran, though, kept scoring boundaries and threatening to take the game away from Lucknow.
KL Rahul then handed the ball to Avesh Khan in the 18th over and the seamer picked the wickets of Pooran and Abdul Samad in a single over to take the game in complete control of Lucknow. Romario Shepherd tried a bit thereafter, but SRH, in the end, fell 12 runs short of the target.
