Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Mitchell Marsh suffered an ankle injury in the side’s opening game against RCB. SRH didn’t only lose the match by 10 runs, they were also hit by the injury of Mitchell Marsh, ruling him out of the season.
Later, the reports suggested Marsh sustained a “moderate- to high-grade syndesmosis injury” that would require surgery. The all rounder also missed out in the Western Australia squad for the first four rounds of Sheffield Shield tournament.
Marsh has already landed in Australia and currently under quarantine in the hotel in Perth. He will be assessed for surgery only when he completes his mandatory quarantine.
“A specialist will further assess Mitch’s ankle once he is out of hotel quarantine next Saturday (October 10) to determine if surgery or non-surgical management is required. Return to play timelines will be mapped out once he has completed quarantine and met with the specialist,” Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) stated.
There was a rucus after Marsh’s X-ray went missing in the UAE and he had to undergo another round of tests.
