Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has landed Chennai ahead of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday. The official handle of CSK uploaded pictures of Dhoni on its Twitter handle, and it didn’t take too long to get viral. A day after his arrival, CSK has now uploaded a video announcing Dhoni’s arrival. It has left the fans ecstatic as they can’t wait to see the skipper hit the ground running once again in IPL 2021.
In the video, Dhoni could be seen making his way to his hotel from the Chennai Airport. The 39-year old received a grand welcome at the team hotel, with the clip showing him making his way into the Hotel Room. Dhoni will now be serving 5-day quarantine.
While talking to ANI, the CSK CEO confirmed that CSK will start training from 8th or 9th March 2021.
“We are looking to start our camp from the 8th or 9th as we look to prepare for the upcoming edition of the IPL. Skipper MS Dhoni is here and the likes of Ambati Rayudu and all those available will be a part of the camp. We are also looking at the Tamil Nadu boys who are part of the team to join in.”
Chennai Super Kings exhibited a below-par display in the IPL 2020. For the first time in their IPL history, the yellow Army failed to reach the playoffs. It remains to be seen how they fare this year. They have made some key inclusion in the auctions in Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham and Robin Uthappa. Also, the return of Suresh Raina is likely to bolster their squad.
