Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is currently leading Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. After losing the first game, CSK have made an assured comeback in the tournament. They registered a 45-run victory over RR in their last game on Monday. CSK batted first and scored 188 runs in the first innings. The wickets offered turn in the latter half of the second innings and CSK spinners made brilliant use of that.
Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja combined to pick 5 wickets between them as CSK restricted RR to 143 runs in the second innings. Skipper MS Dhoni hasn’t been in a great form of late. He scored two runs in the first game and followed by an 18-ball 17 in the last game.
MS Dhoni endured a poor season with the bat last year as well. In 14 matches, he managed 200 runs at an average of 25.00. He couldn’t hit a single half-century in the tournament. For the first time in the history of IPL, CSK failed to reach the playoffs. They finished seventh on the table, securing 6 wins in 14 matches.
MS Dhoni is hailed as one of the most successful skippers in IPL history. He led the franchise to three titles. The 12th game between CSK and RR marked Dhoni’s 200th match as a captain for CSK.
CSK will face KKR in the double-header weekday game at the Wankhede Stadium. CSK has won two of its three matches so far.
