The second leg of the IPL 2021 is all set to resume to start from Sunday in the UAE. However, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman is yet to receive his entry visa to join the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Dubai. As per the latest reports, there is no clarity as to when he will receive the entry visa to join the franchise for the remainder of the tournament. Though, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have joined SRH and currently undergoing a six-day quarantine period.
Speaking to ANI, sources in the know of developments confirmed the update on Mujeeb Ur Rahman. “It is still being worked on and there is no clear date as to when Mujeeb can join his franchise. His entry visa is still being worked on and there should be an update soon,” the source said.
All the players who will be coming after participating in the CPL 2021 will be making bubble to bubble transfer. They need not have to go through six-day quarantine. They will be undergoing a two-day isolation period and will have to return positive before joining their respective franchise.
“The players coming in from the bubbles in CPL and from the SA-SL series will undergo two days of isolation. They will come in and go into their rooms on the first day, they will then get tested the next day and once the results come in, they will join the squad members in the bubble,” the source told ANI.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier informed that all the players coming from the UK will have to undergo six-day quarantine before they can join their respective franchises to participate in the remaining half of IPL 2021.
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will kickstart the second leg of the IPL 2021 in Dubai on Sunday. The action will then shift to Abu Dhabi where Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
