According to recent reports, Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has decided against going back home after the upcoming ODIs against Zimbabwe. He will be avialable for the T20Is.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Mushfiqur Rahim has decided to stay with the team to participate in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. Earlier, the 34-year old opted out of the series to make himself available for the upcoming T20 series against Australia.
Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Tuesday (July 13) that Mushfiqur changed his mind as coming out of the bio-bubble after the ODIs would make it tough to make himself available for the home series against Australia.
“He changed his mind and now is staying back and will be available for the T20Is against Zimbabwe,” said Minhajul. “If he had decided to skip the T20Is against Zimbabwe and come out of the bio-bubble it would have been difficult for him to get back into the bubble again and make him available for the T20s,” he said.
Bangladesh Cricket Team (BCB) recently won the one-off Test against Zimbabwe. They will now participate in the three ODIs and as many T20 internationals, starting from 16th July. After the Zimbabwe series, Bangladesh will head home to play a five-match T20 International series against Australia.
The Australian Cricket Team is currently participating in a T20 series against Zimbabwe. They have already lost the series 3-0, with two games left to be played. Both Australia and Bangladesh will arrive in Bangladesh on 29th July and get straight into the bio-bubble.
Australia and Bangladesh will play the five-match T20 series between 2nd and 8th August 2021. All the games will take palce at Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
