PAK vs AUS: Only 3 wickets fell on day 5 of the first Test between Pakistan and Australia at Rawalpindi Stadium on Tuesday, March 8. Pakistan didn’t take a lot of time to skittle out Pakistan for 459 runs in the second innings. Nauman Ali was the destructor in chief as he ended up picking 6 wickets for 107 runs in 38.1 overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two wickets, while the likes of Sajid Khan and Naseem Shah picked one wicket each.
Australia, on the other hand, couldn’t pick a single wicket when Pakistan came out to bat again on Day 5 of the Test match. Imam Ul Haq brought up his second consecutive century in the Test match. He managed to score 111 runs in 223 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes. He remained unbeaten right till the end of the day’s play. His partner, Abdullah Shafique also looked solid at the crease and remained unbeaten.
He played an outstanding knock of 136 runs in 242 balls, a knock which was peppered with 15 fours and 1 six. Both the batsmen played right till the end and gave no chance to the Aussies to make a comeback. Earlier, Pakistan batted first and managed to score a huge total of 476 runs in the first innings. Imam Ul Haq and Azhar Ali both scored centuries. In reply, Australia batted well and made 459 runs in the second innings. The Test ended up in a draw with two more games still to be played.
The second Test match is scheduled to be played from 12th March to 16th March 2022 at National Stadium in Karachi.
