In pursuit of a 166-run total, Delhi once again got off to a wonderful start. Shaw played aggressively while, Shikhar Dhawan played as a second fiddle till the former was around. Shaw made 39 off 22 balls before getting out in the seventh over. Steve Smith yet again looked patchy for his 22-ball 24, but Shikhar Dhawan made sure Delhi don’t lose behind the chase.
He stitched crucial partnerships with Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer to chase down the total in just 17.4 overs.
Earlier, Mayank Agarwal’s heroic knock of 99-run knock guide Punjab Kings to 166 in the first innings. Mayank single-handedly took the side to a respectable total as other players failed to contribute. In the absence of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal was handed the captaincy. He stepped up to the occasion and played a heroic knock. Agarwal opened the innings with Prabhsimran but the latter failed to get going. Chris Gayle hit a couple of hits before getting back to the pavilion.
Playing his first game of IPL, Dawid Malan struggled against spin. He made 26 runs off 26 balls before Axar Patel outfoxed him in the 14th over. Players got out in single digits thereafter but Mayank Agarwal kept taking the bowlers on from the other end. He hit eight fours and 4 sixes during his scintillating knock.

Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal became the player of the match for his havoc-wreaking of 99 runs off just 58 balls. He also led the side in the absence of KL Rahul who has been diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis and he will undergo surgery.
