IPL 2022 mega auctions Day 1: There is no denying that it was an action-packed IPL 2022 Mega Auctions on Saturday. All the 10 franchises fought hard to buy the services of the players they desire. Ishan Kishan became the most expensive buy on day 1 of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
He was bought for a whopping amount of INR 15.25 crores by Mumbai Indians. Shreyas Iyer became the second-most expensive player after having bought for an amount of 12.25 crores by Kolkata Knight Riders. Besides, many other players also caused bidding wars. The all-rounders and the bowlers were in huge demand on Day 1 auctions.
The new team, Lucknow Super Giants spent the most amount on day 1 of the auctions. They are left with only 6.90 crores. Royal Challengers Bangalore are left with only 9.25 crores. Punjab Kings have loads of money left. They still have 28.65 crores in their kitty, while Mumbai Indians have 27.85 crores.
Some notable names such as Suresh Raina, Imran Tahir, Adil Rashid, Sandeep Lamichhane went unsold. The second day of the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions will be held tomorrow. Around 70 players would continue to come out in sets like they did today, and after that, for the remaining ones and the ones who went unsold today, we would have an accelerated auction.
