Ahead of the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka, Indian fast bowler, Deepak Chahar handed debut cap to brother Rahul Chahar on Friday. Indian team handed debut caps to as many as 5 players including Rahul Chahar. Along with Chahar, four other players such as Sanju Samson, Nitish Rana, Chetan Sakariya and Krishnappa Gowtham also made their debuts.
Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar took to Instagram to upload the video where he can be seen handing the debut cap to his brother. He expressed his happiness by writing a heart-warming caption.’
“Another day another proud moment for me and my family we all dreamed of this day together and very well bowled chote @rdchahar1 many more to come,” he captioned.
Rahul Chahar returned with impressive figures of 3 for 54 in his maiden ODI. He was India’s best bowler on Friday. However, India went onto lose the game but take the series 2-1.
Batting first, India made 225 runs in 43.1 overs. Prithvi Shaw top-scored with 49 off 49, while Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson made 49 and 46 respectively. Riding on Avishka Fernando’s solid 76-run knock, Sri Lanka chased down the total in 39 overs, thereby winning the game by 3 wickets.
The ODI series is done and dusted as the focus shifts to the shortest format. The three T20 internationals between India and Sri Lanka are scheduled to be played on 25, 27 and 29th July 2021.
