Rajasthan Royals, the top-ranked team in the points table, have suffered a setback after winning two of their three matches. After losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals were given a severe blow as Australian all-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury. Coulter-Nile was a member of the Royals’ starting XI in their first match, which they won convincingly by 61 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Australian pacer felt a little discomfort during bowling against SRH and was not even able to complete the over in RR’s first match of the season after which he discovered his injury. He did not take the field since then, and Navdeep Saini replaced him in RR’s next two fixtures.
On Wednesday it was announced by Rajasthan Royals that the pacer had to be dropped out of the whole tournament about which a video had been posted on the official Twitter handle of the team where Coulter Nile was bid farewell with applause.
”Until we meet again, NCN. Speedy Recovery,” Rajasthan Royals tweeted.
In the prior season, Nile was with Mumbai Indians but in the IPL 2022, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals at the mega auction for INR 2 crores. The first match played by him proved to be fatal for the team as he gave away 48 runs in 3 overs. After his dismissal, the time will have to face great consequences as he was a perfect fit who could bat as well as bowl simultaneously. His replacement is not yet announced by the team.
The next Rajasthan Royals is going against LSG (Lucknow SuperGiants) on the 10th of April at Wankhede Stadium.
