RCB vs CSK Match Preview: Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Chennai Super Kings in the 35th match of IPL 2021 on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Royal Challengers Bangalore reached the playoffs last year and put on a show in the first leg of the IPL 2021 in a bid to reach the top-four on a second consecutive occasion. However, they haven’t started the second leg of IPL 2021 on a positive note.
They suffered a nine-wicket defeat at the hands of KKR in their last game on Monday. RCB looked all at sea throughout the game. A brilliant bowling display from KKR helped them bundled RCB out for just 92 runs in the first innings.
All the top-notch stars, namely Virat Kohli (5 off 4), Devdutt Padikkal (22 off 20), Glenn Maxwell (10 off 17) and AB de Villiers (0 off 1) went back to the hut without making a significant contribution. The second innings saw KKR openers tear apart RCB’s bowling line-up as they chased down the target in just 10 overs. It was a forgettable day for the RCB unit. Ahead of the next game against CSK, they would be keen to make a strong comeback.
However, it isn’t going to be easy to beat CSK, who are flying high at the moment. Chennai Super Kings are coming into the game on the back of a 20-run win over Mumbai Indians. Ruturaj Gaekwad’s 88-run knock lifted CSK to a 156-run total after the top-order failed to hit the straps. Ravindra Jadeja (26 off 33) and Dwayne Bravo (23 off 8) also made significant contributions lower down the order.
MS Dhoni made great bowling changes in the second innings and bowlers too helped him fetch wickets at regular intervals. Dwayne Bravo picked three wickets in the match, while Deepak Chahar picked two. As a result, CSK restricted MI to 136 in the second innings.
