RCB vs KKR postponed: In a major scare for IPL fans, the 30th match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders have been postponed to 6th April 2021.
According to a press release by BCCI, two KKR players in Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier are tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, all other players are being tested negative for the deadly virus. The medical team has been constantly in touch with the players and is making sure that all the players are in good health.
According to the release, Varun and Sandeep were found to be positive in the third round of testing. Both the players have put themselves in isolation and the medical team is constantly in the touch with them. Add to that, KKR players will now be testing daily in a bid to test make sure all the players are safe and in good health.
“Varun and Sandeep tested positive and that made the RCB camp wary of the situation. The game is set to be postponed,” the official said.
This hasn’t been the first time when the players have tested positive for coronavirus. Nitish Rana and Axar Patel had also tested positive before the opening game of IPL 2021. As a result, they couldn’t play a few games before returning negative in the following tests.
Amidst the Covid-19 scare, a lot of overseas players have already gone back to their respective countries. Australian players Kane Richardson, Andrew Tye and Adam Zampa have already made their way back home.
Last week KKR pacer Pat Cummins had donated Rs.50 lakhs to the PM Cares Fund for the cause of tackling the COVID-19 in the country. Several IPL franchises like Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals & Punjab Kings had also pledged to donate for the same cause.
