The Indian team led a remarkable win in the final match of the four-match Test series in Brisbane on Tuesday. India scripted history as they defeated Australia by three wickets at the Gabba to seal the Test series 2-1. It was Australia’s first thrashing defeat at their stronghold ‘Fortress Gabba’ in 32 years as the Indian cricket crew, missing large numbers of their central participants, finished the game with a memorable on the Australian soil.

PM Narendra Modi lauded the Indian team for their incredible sportsmanship throughout the tournament and expressed his ecstasy over their victory.
“We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. Their remarkable energy and passion were visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination. Congratulations to the team! Best wishes for your future endeavours,” PM Modi tweeted as he congratulated the Indian team for a historical win.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly also congratulated their boys for their zealous approach to clinch the victory.
“Just a remarkable win…To go to Australia and win a test series in this way ..will be remembered in the history of Indian cricket forever ..BCCI announces a 5 crore bonus for the team…The value of this win is beyond any number ..well done to every member of the touring party..,” congratulated BCCI president Ganguly via his tweet.
The BCCI has announced INR 5 Crore as a bonus for the outstanding and stupendous performance at the Gabba.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also took to Twitter to applaud the team’s efforts to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“What a Game at Brisbane! It is one of the most memorable victories in recent years. Congratulations to the Indian cricket team for winning the Test Match and the series against Australia. This stupendous victory in Australia is truly remarkable. Well played Team India!” he tweeted.
The action that was needed on the last day of the series was surely there. India successfully chased the target of 328 runs set up by the hosts.
Although during the last hour when India needed 69 runs, it appeared as though they are considering drawing the match at first, but the Indian team was full of positive energy and only played with the goal to win.
The chase started with the 21-year-old Shubham Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara stitching a partnership of 114 runs in 240 balls after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma(7) in seventh over of the second innings of the visitors. Despite losing their strongest batsman, the players did not lose hope. Gill smashed a beautiful 91 runs to put them in a strong position.
Rishabh Pant stormed the scene to seal the victory by channeling his T20 form and hitting nine fours and one six. Pant was aware of the situation and knew exactly what he had to do as he played an unbeaten knock of 89 runs.
The team ended up defeating Australia by 3 wickets, in a match worth remembering for years to come by.
