Salman Butt has advised Rishabh Pant to learn from Rohit Sharma how to play in English conditions. In his latest video uploaded on Youtube, the former Pakistan batsman lavished praise on Rohit Sharma. He stated that Rohit has adapted the English conditions brilliantly and playing according to the demand of Test cricket in England.
Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, has endured a forgettable tour so far.
“One of the common traits among batters who score runs in all types of conditions around the world is their adaptability. Rohit Sharma too has moulded his game in England according to the circumstances. According to my, Rohit Sharma is the best example for Rishabh Pant and other youngsters to watch and learn from. He is more aggressive and has more shots than some of the young guns. His range of stroke play is also far greater,” Butt said.
Rohit Sharma has scored close to 300 runs in the series, including two half-centuries. He is currently unbeaten at 48 in the fourth Test. The player achieved the milestone of breaching the landmark of 15000 international runs on Day 2 of the fourth Test.
“However, look at the way he is respecting the ball and playing according to the conditions. He has displayed immense patience and has been waiting for the ball. There is a lot for the youngsters to learn from him. I really hope he plays long innings on Friday. I am really enjoying the way he has been batting,” Butt added.
The five-match series is currently levelled at 1-1. Both teams have won one game apiece. In the ongoing fourth Test, India is unbeaten at 49 for no loss in their second innings. Earlier, India scored 191 in the first innings, to which England replied with 290 in the second innings.
