Sachin Tendulkar is one of the widely recognized figures across the globe. He is hailed not only for his cricket exploits on the field but also for the work he does off the field as well. The legendary cricketer has once again made the headlines for helping a 19-year old Dipti Vishvasrao with financial aid to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor.
Dipti Vishvasrao, a 19-year old girl, is a resident of Zarye Village in Ratnagiri district. She is now all set to become the first doctor from her village, thanks to Sachin Tendulkar for providing a generous hand.
During the lockdown, Dipti would travel a kilometre every day as her village was remotely located. She did so to get the internet connection required to continue her studies online. Much to her delight, she cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), secured admission to the Government Medical College at Akola.
Though she had secured the admission, financial constraints proved to be a roadblock in her dream of becoming a doctor. And, just when she was losing hope, Sachin Tendulkar came to her rescue. His foundation in association with Seva Sehyog Foundation did the needful in terms of providing the finances.
A video message from SSF’s Twitter handle had Dipti saying: “I am thankful to Sachin Tendulkar Foundation for awarding me the scholarship. The scholarship has lightened all my financial burdens, which allows me to focus more on my studies.”
It is not the first time when Sachin Tendulkar has come forward to help young kids fulfil their dreams. Sachin Tendulkar is hailed as the best batsman India has ever produced. He holds the record of scoring the most runs in international cricket.
