Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former captain of India Sourav Ganguly will take part in a unique cricket match in the Legends League Cricket. On Instagram, Ganguly announced that he would be participating in a very special match for Season 2 of the Legends League Cricket.
LLC recently announced that India will serve as the host country for the upcoming season. It would be a unique game for a social cause. The good news is that the Indian fans would be able to watch Sourav Ganguly play once again.
The former India skipper shared some glimpses of his workout in the gym. He captioned the post as: “Enjoying the training to get ready to play for one-off charity fundraising game for Azadi ka Mahotsav..75 years of Indian independence and also for women empowerment with the top legends of the legends league cricket @llct20 need to hit some cricket balls soon.”
Legends League Cricket CEO acknowledges Ganguly’s participation
Raman Raheja, Co-Founder & CEO, Legends League Cricket, in an official release, said: “We thank legendary Sourav Ganguly for playing a match with other legends. Once a legend, always a legend, Dada is always there for Cricket. And he will play a special social cause match, which is going to be a spectacular view for our audience. We hope to see some iconic dada shots.”
Many young cricketers who grew up watching Ganguly and achieved success in the sport have found inspiration in him. His approach and love for cricket are endorsed by millions of fans.
Ganguly scored 18,575 runs across all formats while playing for India in 113 Tests and 311 ODIs. He had coached India in 195 games of all types, and he had won 97 of those games. In the summer of 1996, Ganguly played his first Test match against England and scored a century at Lord’s. In his second Test, the left-handed hitter went on to record a century.
