Sydney Sixers on Tuesday confirmed the signing of all-rounder Lisa Griffith ahead of the upcoming season of the Women’s Big Bash League. Before that, Griffith played for their derby-rivals Sydney Thunders for the last three seasons.
The franchise has also signed the veteran pacer Sarah Aley, who is the second-highest wicket-taker in the WBBL history. The 36-year-old has played 72 WBBL matches and taken 83 wickets at an economy rate of 6.47.
On the other hand, Griffith is looking forward to work with the Sixers’ bowling coach Benny Sawyer in the upcoming season.
“I am really excited to have the chance to work with Benny Sawyer, he’s a fantastic bowling coach,” Griffith said.
Griffith is a seasoned player and the Sixers can bank on her presence and experience as she has the experience of leading the New South Wales (NSW)
Under her leadership, NSW finished as the runners-up against Western Australia in Women’s National Cricket League next year.
Even she expressed her excitement to play alongside Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy and have the privilege of sharing the dressing room with them.
WBBL 6 is set to begin from October 17 and the first match will take place between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat.
