India’s new bowling sensation T Natarajan has joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, the franchise confirmed on Thursday. Sunrisers Hyderabad took to Twitter to inform about the update to its fans.
“Our Yorker King is here,” wrote Sunrisers Hyderabad on Twitter.
In the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan led Hyderabad’s bowling attack last year. He attracted eyeballs with his ability to bowl pinpoint Yorkers consistently. The 29-year old ended up picking 16 wickets in as many matches. Ahead of the 2021 IPL, Natarajan will be one of the most vital players in the side. The team will depend heavily on him to bowl well in the power play and the death overs.
T Natarajan is coming into the tournament after representing India in the T20 and ODI series against England. He played one game each in ODI and T20 series as well. The left-arm seamer played the final T20 of the three-match series. He bowled the final over in the series decider and defended 14 runs to help India win the T20 series. He ended with match figures of 1 for 73 runs in his quota of overs.
Despite not playing to their potential, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to reach the playoffs in the last edition. They, however, lost to Delhi Capitals in the Eliminator 2 to end their hopes of winning their second IPL title. David Warner and Co. would be looking to plug all the loopholes and hope for better performance in IPL 2021.
