Manchester United’s Glazers have announced their participation in the UAE T20 League, which is set to begin early next year. Through its parent business Lancer Capital, they bought a franchise in the six-team league.
“I am very excited to be a part of UAE T20 at its formation. UAE T20 promises to be a world-class event that will be transformative to the growth of cricket in the Emirates,” said Avram Glazer, chairman of Lancer Capital confirming joining the league.
Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of the UAE T20 League and vice-head of the Emirates Cricket Board, welcomed Glazer to the league.

Lancer Capital has a diverse portfolio of best-in-class assets. Avie Glazer, the Chairman of Lancer Capital, is a Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner.
Since 2005, Glazer has also served as Co-Chairman of Manchester United. Manchester United has more league titles than any other English team.

Sanctioned by Emirates Cricket Board, the UAE T20 League is a professional franchise-based T20 cricket league that has six franchise teams participating in a 34-match campaign. It is scheduled to take place in February and March.
