Going into the IPL 2021 auctions, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a decent purse of 35.40 crores. The franchise roped in three talented overseas players in Glenn Maxwell for 14.25 Crores, Kyle Jamieson for 15 Crores and Daniel Christian for 4.80 Crores. Indian Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli has recently expressed his delight over his franchise’s notable acquisitions.
“Very very happy with our buys and the results we had in the auction. We got what we wanted for the balance and strength of our squad. We had a really good season last year and we believe that the new additions are going to propel us in the right direction going forward,” said Kohli in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of RCB.
The skipper believes that the new acquisitions have added the required strength and balance to the squad. Royal Challengers Bangalore fared pretty well last year and went onto qualify for the playoffs. However, they, unfortunately, lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator match.
“Hopefully, a couple of more steps further than the last year. Cannot wait to be back and get going for RCB this year. Just want to say once again, RCB fans are the best fanbase, we look forward to your support,” he added.
Royal Challengers have managed to reach the final of IPL thrice but haven’t been able to win the title in their IPL history. It remains to be seen how the Virat Kohli-led franchise fare in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league.
