Former Indian batsman, Virender Sehwag lauded Yuzevndra Chahal and Harshal Patel’s exceptional bowling against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Sehwag added that there might be a chance that the team management makes a couple of changes in India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad.
“Harshal Patel was spectacular and Yuzvendra Chahal showed why he is such a smart cricketer. Great win for @RCBTweets. Still see India tweaking the final 15 for the World Cup,” Sehwag wrote in a post on his Twitter handle.
Both Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel bowled brilliantly in the last game for RCB against MI. Chahal picked three wickets for just 11 runs in his quota of four overs, while Harshal Patel picked his first-ever hat-trick in the tournament. Thanks to their brilliant performances with the ball, Royal Challengers Bangalore bundled out MI for just 111 runs in the second innings, thereby winning the game by 54 runs.
Earlier, Virat Kohli scored a half-century, while Glenn Maxwell scored 56 runs off 37 balls. As a result of that, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 165 runs in the first innings. Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal wasn’t included in India’s T20 World Cup squad. And after his exceptional spell against MI, Virender Sehwag took an indirect dig at the selectors.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first game against MI in UAE after losing two consecutive matches. With that win, they have moved to the number three position on the points table with 6 wins in 10 matches. They have secured 12 points and would be aiming to occupy the top two spots on the table. They have four games remaining in their campaign. RCB will be playing their next game against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday.
Chennai Super Kings currently tops the points table with 8 wins in 10 matches. Delhi Capitals are at second with the same number of points but has an inferior net run rate.
