Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan’s rivalry on social media is one of the best sources of entertainment for cricket fans. The duo never misses an opportunity to pull each other’s leg. Fans, once again, had fun when Jaffer uploaded a photo of him at Lord’s Cricket Ground and captioned it:
“Sun is shining, the weather is sweet @HomeOfCricket”.
Vaughan took this as an opportunity to take a dig at Indian batter. He replied with the caption,
“Is it the 20th anniversary of my first Test wicket you are here for Wasim?” Incidentally, Vaughan had dismissed Jaffer at the Lord’s in 2002.

However, the fun didn’t end just there. Jaffer’s reply to that left everyone in splits. He uploaded the picture of India winning the series in England in 2007 and captioned it,
“Here for the 15th anniversary of this Michael #ENGvIND”.
India won the series in England for the first time under the leadership of Rahul Dravid by a 1-0 margin and Jaffer was part of that squad. The Twitter exchange was widely shared by the two former cricketers’ followers.
Meanwhile, Jaffer recently talked about India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. He reckons that Rishabh Pant isn’t likely to be in India’s squad.
“I think if you select the next T20 team, then DK stays in the XI without a doubt. KL Rahul comes back as and when he is fit, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, I think those 3-4 guys walk into the side. So, I feel Rishabh Pant will find it hard to get a place in that XI,” Jaffer said on ESPNcricinfo.
“I think DK has overlapped Rishabh Pant at least at the moment. I can’t say about the future, but at the moment you would pick DK any time in front of Rishabh Pant,” he said.
