Royal Challengers Bangalore Chairman Anand Kripalu is one of the prominent names in the country and is currently the Managing Director & CEO of Diageo India. He played an integral role in taking Hindustan Unilever to new heights. He worked for the HU for twenty-two years. He then enjoyed an eight-year stint for Cadbury. During his stint at Cadbury, the Cadbury Dairy Milk campaign “Shubh Aarambh” won the 2010 Abby’s ‘Grand Prix award’ and the ‘Gold Standard 2011 APPIES Award’ in Singapore.
Anand Kripalu is married to Sukanya Kripalu. His wife is a board member of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retails Ltd and Ultratech cement.

On October 1, 2020, Anand Kripalu was appointed as the new Chairman of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise of IPL. He took over the role from Sanjeev Churiwala, who is also the executive director and chief financial officer of Diageo India.
“As the new season starts, it’s going to be an exciting new chapter to lead the team from the front along with Virat, Mike Hesson and Simon Katich and we look forward to playing bold,” Anand Kripalu said after being appointed as the chairman.
For the unversed, Diageo India is a beverage alcohol company, which deals in manufacturing and distributing several brands such as Johnnie Walker, Black Dog, Black & White, VAT 69, Antiquity, Signature, Royal Challenge, McDowell’s No.1, Smirnoff, and Captain Morgan.
Kripalu has previously served as the Chairman of CII’s National FMCG Committee (2009-10). He was also on the Managing Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the National Executive Committee at FICCI. He has been the Jury Chair at the 4th edition of the Indian Marketing Awards (IMA) 2017.
During Kripalu’s first stint with RCB, the franchise went onto reach the playoffs. They finished at fourth position with 7 wins in 14 games.
