Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced the schedule for its upcoming men’s and women’s side series. The men’s team is set to tour Ireland for a white-ball series comprising five Twenty20 international matches and three one-day international (ODI) matches, which will be followed by three T20Is against Scotland.
The Zimbabwe men’s tour of Ireland will get underway on 27 August starting off with the T20I series at Clontarf. The second match will take place on August 29 at the same venue, while the remaining matches 1, 2 and 4 September at Bready.
Zimbabwe and Ireland will then square off in the three-match ODI series at Stormont on September 8, 10, and 13 September. The matches will form part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.
After completing the Ireland tour, the Zimbabwe team will proceed to travel to Edinburgh for three T20Is against Scotland on September 15, 17 and 19.
As for the women’s team, the Zimbabwe senior women’s team will be hosting the Thailand women at Takashinga in Harare.
The teams will first lock horns in a four-match ODI series slated to take place on August 18, 20, 22, and 24, following which they clash in three T20Is set to be held on August 27, 29 and 30.
Just after the completion of their series against Thailand, the Zimbabwe women’s team will then leave for Botswana to participate in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier scheduled for September 7-20.
Furthermore, Zimbabwe Cricket is working towards widening its pool of players and exposing most of them to international cricket. The board has sent a Zimbabwe Emerging men’s team to Namibia for three T20 matches and as many one-day games. Five Under-19 players have been named in the 15-man Zimbabwe Emerging squad.
The T20s between Zimbabwe Emerging and Namibia Eagles will take place in Windhoek on August 14, 15, and 16, followed by the one-day matches on August 18, 20, and 22.
