England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced the 14-man squad of England for the second Test match against Pakistan. The second test match is scheduled to start from August 13 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

England have included the 26-year-old uncapped Sussex seamer into the 14-man squad who became the replacement of Ben Stokes.

‘Sussex seamer Ollie Robinson is added to the squad for the first time replacing Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes, who left the bio-secure bubble after the first Test for family reasons” the ECB said in a statement.

Stokes has opt out of the second Test match owing to his family problems, mainly his father’s health issues. Robinson has been with the side since the West Indies series and trained a lot with the players in the nets.

Besides, he took eight wickets against Hampshire in the Bob Willis Trophy after the season resumption.

He is also likely to make his debut for the side during the second Test but that will depend on the combination of the bowling lineup the side will go with.

Earlier, the Essex batsman Dan Lawrence had to leave the bio-secure bubble due to a family bereavement and he will miss the debut opportunity in the second Test in Southampton.

It is confirmed that England will play James Anderson as the skipper Joe Root himself revealed this by saying: “Jimmy is likely to play, yes. Wouldn’t you give him the opportunity with nearly 600 wickets?”

England 14-man squad:  Joe Root (Captain), James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Dominic Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (WK), Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Dom Sibley, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood
