PAK vs ENG 2nd Test: After winning the first Test match against Pakistan, England would be looking to seal the series ahead of the second Test, scheduled to start from 9th to 13th December 2022. In the first Test, England continued aggressively playing Test cricket and produced a result when it looked like the Test would end up in a draw.
On a track that was a paradise for batting, England notched a gigantic score of 657 runs in the first innings in the first two days of a Test match. Four English batters, namely Zak Crawley, Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook scored respective centuries.
In reply, Pakistan also produced a brilliant batting display and went on to score 579 runs in the second innings. Shafique, Imam Ul Haq, and Babar Azam showed their mettle as all three notched centuries.
It looked like the Test would end in a draw but then England came into bat in their second innings and went all guns blazing. England smashed 264 runs in 35.5 overs and declared their innings with 3 wickets still remaining.
Their decision took everyone by surprise as they had set Pakistan a target of 343 runs with four sessions still to be played. The pundits were now considering Pakistan as favourites to win the clash but what followed was an outstanding bowling display from the English bowlers.
England bundled out Pakistan for 268 runs, thereby winning the match by 74 runs. Ollie Robinson and James Anderson ran through the opposition’s batting unit as the duo claimed four wickets each.
