South African skipper Quinton de Kock has been under scrutiny following two back to back losses against England at home. The hosts have looked defunctive in front of the visitors, even lost the series 2-0 to them on Sunday.

Despite the series loss, Quinton de Kock has asked the fans to restrain from passing any judgement instead support the team.

The Proteas suffered yet another series loss under de Kock’s captaincy and this doesn’t look good for them considering the T20 World Cup next year. The world was struck by COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the international cricket at halt.

For de Kock who took over the captaincy from du Plessis, the team is still under the process restructure keeping the T20 World Cup in consideration.

“Patience is key at the moment. The team hasn’t played together in five to six months. It’s all about patience. If we spend more time together and play together, the results will come,” De Kock told ahead of third T20I.

The hosts have been seen surrendering to the visitor’s bowlers while failing to make any remarkable impression with the bat. But the positives for them so far has been their spinner Tabraiz Shamsi a has impressed in the spin bowling.

“At the beginning of the lockdown we weren’t really allowed to train so that was quite tough,” Shamsi said.

“Our first game we played together as a team was on Friday, we’re still getting to know each other. Obviously, we know each other but the more you play together, the more you’re going to know each other’s ins and outs.

“It’s going to take us a little more time to gel again. There’s no need to panic, we’re getting used to each other to get in the rhythm again.” he concluded.

England and South Africa are slated to face each other in the third and final T20I at Cape Town on Wednesday.
